Martingale collars, also called slip or limited-slip collars, are great collars that provide more control than a typical flat collar to prevent dogs from backing or slipping out. The collar works by engaging when the dog pulls on the leash. Tension on the leash causes the chain to engage and tighten. They offer comfortable security without harming your dog*.
Martingale collars are best for walking dogs who may otherwise slip or back out of a traditional collar. They’re not meant as a walking aid for dogs who pull. For dogs who are extreme pullers on leash, it is recommended to consult with a professional dog trainer to work on loose-leash walking.

*Please note: Slip and Martingale Collars are not recommended for pullers. These collars can act as a self correcting tool only when used correctly. It is the responsibility of the handler to teach leash pressure if you plan on buying a Martingale/Slip Collar to best avoid any possible choking.
